Pagina 1 di 2  Circa una settimana fa mi è arrivata una e-mail da Medici Senza Frontiere , tramite il comunicato MSF ringrazia chi ha aderito alla richiesta di aiuto che ha lanciato alcuni mesi fa per contrastare le accuse di Novartis al governo Indiano. Carissimo sostenitore, Da parte di tutto lo staff di Medici Senza Frontiere vogliamo ringraziarti personalmente di aver aderito alla petizione di Medici Senza Frontiere per chiedere a Novartis di rinunciare alla causa intentata contro il Governo Indiano. Come forse avrai già saputo, lunedì 6 agosto, la Corte Indiana ha respinto il ricorso della multinazionale Svizzera. La Novartis aveva trascinato in giudizio il Governo Indiano per forzarlo a modificare la legge indiana sui brevetti in modo da ottenere una più facile e più ampia protezione della proprietà intellettuale per i suoi prodotti. Novartis affermava che la legge indiana ? che consente entro certi limiti la produzione di versioni generiche di alcuni medicinali essenziali - non rispetta le regole fissate dall'Organizzazione Mondiale del Commercio. Ma queste lamentale lamentele sono state giudicate prime prive di fondamento dall'Alta Corte di Chennay. La sentenza della Corte indiana è un grande sollievo per tutti i medici e i pazienti che nei Paesi in via di sviluppo dipendono dagli equivalenti generici e di qualità d e i farmaci salva-vita prodotti n India a prezzi accessibili per i Paesi più poveri.
